NOTICE OF CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION POLICE PATROLMAN MARCH 10, 2018

The City of Richmond Heights Civil Service Commission will give an open competitive written examination for the position of Police Patrolman on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 12:00 noon, in the Richmond Heights High School cafeteria, 447 Richmond Road, Richmond Heights. Applications for the test may be obtained at the Office of the Mayor, Richmond Heights City Hall, located at 26789 Highland Road, Richmond Heights, Ohio 44143, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. All applications must be made on forms provided by the Civil Service Commission. Completed applications must be sent by certified mail to the Office of the Mayor, at the address listed above, postmarked no later than March 2, 2018. The applicant must pay a non-refundable fee of $25.00, payable by check or money order, which must be included with the application. NSF checks will exclude the applicant from the test. Every applicant must be a U.S. citizen and be at least 21 years of age as of the date of the written examination. No person 35 years of age or older will be eligible to receive an appointment. Applicants must provide the Commission a current Certificate of Completion of the Police Officer Standardized Physical Agility Exam from Cuyahoga Community College no later than March 25 at the Office of the Mayor. Information about the Agility Exam may be obtained by calling 216-987-3033. All applicants must pass a written examination, a background check including polygraph, a psychological assessment, and an oral interview prior to appointment. Medical examinations are also required prior to hiring. The applicant must be in good physical condition and capable of performing the physical functions required of a Police Patrolman. A minimum grade of 70% on the written examination is required to qualify for additional testing and possible appointment by the Mayor.
