Recycling Grants Awarded to Cuyahoga County Communities, Schools and Non-profits

3/4/2016 The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District is pleased to announce Richmond Heights as one of the recipients of its 2016 Community Recycling Awareness Grant.

The Community Recycling Awareness Grant was created by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District to help local governments in Cuyahoga County promote recycling to residents. Communities may apply for up to $5,000 in funding.  The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District offers grants to help non-profit organizations and schools in Cuyahoga County start, expand and improve recycling and composting programs by assisting with the purchase of recycling and composting containers.

In 2014, thirty-eight Cuyahoga County communities received a Community Recycling Awareness Grant which enabled them to collectively distribute recycling information to over 208,500 households, conduct 39 shred days that generated 220.45 tons of paper, and purchase 119 public recycling containers.

Richmond Heights is the recipient of $5,000 which will be utilized for funding 2 shred days (June 18, 2016 & October 8, 2016), 7 Recycling Containers to locate at various locations around the City and newspaper ads to publicize the shred day events.
