Rubbish Pickup


Richmond Heights contracts with a private waste hauler (Waste Management) that is responsible for rubbish removal. The scheduled pickup day for waste and recycling collection for the entire City of Richmond Heights is Monday. Please refer to the 2017 Recycling & Garbage Calendar for scheduling delays that occur this year as a result of holidays. The 2018 Recycling & Garbage Calendar is also available.

It is the responsibility of the homeowner to pay the pickup fee for rubbish service. For 2017, the cost for trash removal is $111.34 (for entire year). The City recommends trash containers with lids. Trash containers can be placed on the tree lawn either after dusk the night before your pickup or no later than 7:30 a.m. the morning of, and removed from the tree lawn as soon as possible after rubbish pickup. Waste Management typically picks up rubbish between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Homeowners associations and apartments are responsible for their own rubbish, snow, leaf and recycling removal for select streets and apartments.
