 Technology Advisory Committee Members

The Council responded to the need for a Technology Advisory Committee and passed Ordinance 108-2020 for the creation of said committee on 12.22.20.

The Technology Committee shall make recommendations to the Council on matters pertaining to analyzing various technology avenues and processes which may be implemented by Council and the City Administration for the betterment of the citizens of the City, and shall advise the Council and City Administration on recommended purchases of technology equipment and services.

The Committee shall consist of five members, three of whom shall be appointed by the Council and two of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor; all of whom shall serve terms of one year; and all of whom shall be eligible to continue to serve on such committee by continued appointment of the Mayor or Council, with no limit on the number of terms.

The Committee shall meet at least monthly. Meetings shall be open to the public. This is a volunteer opportunity to serve your community.

Part-Time Firefighters:

The Richmond Heights Division of Fire is currently seeking applications for part-time firefighters. All applicants must possess Firefighter II and Paramedic certifications. Interested candidates can pick up an employment application at Richmond Heights City Hall located at 26789 Highland Road during the business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Part-Time Custodian - up to 28 hours a week

The City of Richmond Heights is looking for an experienced custodial worker to perform routine cleaning tasks in the Police Department Monday thru Friday between 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Job duties include: Clean, sweep, scrub, vacuum, and shampoo carpets, remove and dispose of waste. Clean and sanitize the kitchen, wash tables, dust/vacuum offices, hallways, dust upstairs and down stair areas, clean bathrooms, disinfect, and deodorize restrooms and replenish supplies. Maintain the entrance of the Police Department during the winter by removing snow and spreading salt on walkways. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED certification and a minimum of one (1) year of recent experience performing custodial duties and operating cleaning equipment. Strong customer service skills and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of CDC cleaning standards preferred. 

Must be able to pass a Criminal History Background Check and pass a drug screening.

 Full-Time Equipment Operator/Laborer Position

The Equipment Operator/Laborer is a multi-purpose position requiring the use of a variety of skills to perform the following tasks:

Electrical- (Commercial and Residential)

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic systems and equipment in various municipal buildings, and parks.
  • Tests, locates, and repairs electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Plans and participates in all phases of wiring work such as installation of conduits, wires, pull boxes, switchboards, and switches required by new or existing electrical systems.
  • Operates and/or installs switches, building interior/exterior lighting, and fixtures in city owned-buildings.

Concrete- Assist with various concrete/masonry work

  • Assists with maintenance and repair work on City streets and City owned parking lots by spreading asphaltic road building material over road surface including, shoveling, raking, and brushing material to correct thickness.
  • Repair and patch curbs; install culverts; water basins, and sidewalks.
  • Operates a variety of equipment including pickup trucks, light dump trucks, front end loaders, spreaders, and pavement rollers, jackhammers, power chain saws, tractors, and painting equipment and a variety of maintenance equipment which may include front end loaders, pavement rollers, and tractors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of proper use of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of masonry materials and skill in using masonry tools.
  • Ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions - General

  • Strength enough to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds of force.
  • Flexibility enough to bend, twist, reach to load or unload materials and equipment.
  • Occasional work on ladders and scaffolding more than twelve (12) feet above ground.
  • Subject to working near moving objects such as traffic and machinery.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in assigned trade and three (3) years of recent experience in the operation of heavy equipment and/or making minor electrical repairs, must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Ohio Drivers' License. A commercial License and HVAC Certification, highly desirable.
