Current Openings:


The City of Richmond Heights is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Finance Director to serve as Chief Financial Officer. This position reports directly to the Mayor. Responsibilities include: 
Planning, implementing, managing, controlling all fiscal activities
Provide timely analysis of budgets and financial trends and forecasts
Directly responsibility for accounting, finance, strategic financial planning, debt management, purchasing, investments, treasury services, worker's compensation benefits, payroll and accounts payable/receivables. 
Oversees external audits, review and analyze results for discussion and resolves issues
Participates in Union Negotiations & Health Plan Renewals
Meets regularly with Mayor, directors, commissioners 
Attends City Council meetings and planning sessions. 

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public or Business Administration or closely related field. CPA and/or MBA is a plus. 
Must have at least 6 years of relevant municipal or government experience in progressively responsible financial roles with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. 
Excellent communication and presentation skills is also required. 
Solid experience with accounting software such as SSI, Visual Intelligence Portfolio (VIP) or other Governmental.  Microsoft Word, and Excel.

The City is looking for a Planning Commission member.  The primary role of the Planning Commission is to make, amend, extend, and add to the master plan for the physical development of the Municipality.  Exercise control over platting or subdividing land within the Municipality. Interpretation of the City’s Codified Ordinances, balancing the skillsets of candidates is particularly important.  For example, current members past professional experiences include engineering, architecture and community planning is preferred.
This is a paid position that can bring great reward as you get to see, even enjoy first-hand the impacts of your efforts.   
The Planning Commission meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. and for formal meetings. All meetings shall be held in the Richmond Heights City Hall.

Part-Time Firefighters:

The Richmond Heights Division of Fire is currently seeking applications for part-time firefighters. All applicants must possess Firefighter II and Paramedic certifications. Interested candidates can pick up an employment application at Richmond Heights City Hall located at 26789 Highland Road during the business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
