The City of Richmond Heights Civil Service Commission invites qualified applicants to apply for a lateral transfer position of Police Officer.

Application Packets will be available beginning May 17, 2022, on the City of Richmond Heights website at or can be picked up at the City of Richmond Heights City Hall between 9a.m.-4p.m.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications;

* Be a United States Citizen, at least 21 years of age.

* At least two (2) consecutive years beyond any probationary period, of full-time law enforcement experience in any Police Department established pursuant to Ohio Law.

* Hold a valid law enforcement OPOTA certificate.

* Possess a valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

* Pass the Police Fitness Agility Test conducted by Cuyahoga Community College.

* All applicants must pass a background check, polygraph, psychological assessment, medical exam, and interview prior to hiring.

A properly completed application with required supporting documentation must be sent by certified mail or returned in person to the City of Richmond Heights City Hall, Human Resources Manager, at 26789 Highland Road, Richmond Heights, Ohio 44143 by 5p.m. on June 16, 2022.

Salary range; $62,846-$82,168: Benefits, Health Insurance, Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave.

The City is looking for a Planning Commission member.  The primary role of the Planning Commission is to make, amend, extend, and add to the master plan for the physical development of the Municipality.  Exercise control over platting or subdividing land within the Municipality. Interpretation of the City’s Codified Ordinances, balancing the skillsets of candidates is particularly important.  For example, current members past professional experiences include engineering, architecture and community planning is preferred.
This is a paid position that can bring great reward as you get to see, even enjoy first-hand the impacts of your efforts.   
The Planning Commission meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. and for formal meetings. All meetings shall be held in the Richmond Heights City Hall.

The Richmond Heights Division of Fire is currently seeking applications for part-time firefighters. All applicants must possess Firefighter II and Paramedic certifications. Interested candidates can pick up an employment application at Richmond Heights City Hall located at 26789 Highland Road during the business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
