Senior Home Repair Program
The Senior Home Repair Program, funded through a partnership with Community Housing Solutions and Cuyahoga County, provides critical assistance to qualified and income-eligible senior homeowners in Richmond Heights.
The program provides essential home repairs and safety modifications to help older adults maintain safe, comfortable living environments.
The Richmond Heights Department of Community Development partners with Community Housing Solutions to deliver this service.

Home Owner Resources
Property Tax Options
To be eligible for most home repair programs, you must be current on property taxes or enrolled in a payment plan. You can check the status of your tax bill by searching for your property on the Cuyahoga County MyPlace database or by calling the Cuyahoga County Tax Services Department.
If you are delinquent on property taxes, to avoid foreclosure, you can enroll in a payment plan through the county.
If you are current on property taxes but would like to pay your future taxes monthly, you can enroll in Cuyahoga County’s free EasyPay program.

Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA)
If you're in the market to purchase a home and need help with a down payment and closing costs, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) can help. OHFA offers 30-year, fixed-rate conventional, FHA, VA and USDA-RD government loans with generous income and purchase price limits, designed especially for homebuyers with low- and moderate-incomes.
Your Choice! Down Payment Assistance allows homebuyers to choose either 2.5% or 5% of the home's purchase price. Assistance can be applied towards down payments, closing costs or other pre-closing expenses. This assistance is forgiven after seven years. If you sell your home within seven years, you must repay all of the assistance provided.

Power of Home
Qualified buyers are eligible to join Power of Home, a new program that provides free homeowner resources. Housing Enhancement Loan Program (HELP)
Cuyahoga County’s HELP provides low-interest loans to owners of single-family and multi-family dwellings for the purpose enhancing or improving the property’s livability.

Hebrew Free Loan Association
The Hebrew Free Loan Association offers interest free loans to individuals in need—for home, business, education or medical expenses. Proof of income and a co-signer are required.

Empowering and Strengthening Ohio's People (ESOP)
ESOP works with homeowners and their loan agencies to obtain affordable resolutions that preserve homeownership. ESOP will assist in obtaining financial assistance and/or negotiate with a loan agency for an affordable mortgage solution.

Cleveland Heights Home Repair Resource Center
The Home Repair Resource Center in Cleveland Heights offers low-cost, hands-on workshops for basic and DIY home repair skills, as well as a tool lending library. They also provide housing and financial counseling and foreclosure prevention.

The Heritage Home Program℠
The Heritage Home Program℠ Loan is a low-interest fixed-rate home equity loan for homeowners to affordably maintain and improve their houses. Loan clients have access to written construction specifications for exterior projects, locating qualified contractors and project guidance.

Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging
WRAA serves older adults and individuals with disabilities in Cuyahoga County. Services and programs give older adults and persons with disabilities access to information, assistance, consultation, and long-term care services and support.

Community Partnership on Aging
Community Partnership on Aging's mission promotes independence, a healthy lifestyle, community involvement, and opportunities for personal growth for older adults, as well as support for family caregivers. Programs/services include transportation, Community and Frozen meal options, and supportive services. In addition, the agency provides counseling, volunteer management, health, wellness, civic and social opportunities and assists older adults in maintaining independence in their homes.

The mission of Community Housing Solutions is to serve low- and moderate-income families in Cuyahoga County by helping them obtain and maintain safe, decent, affordable housing. Their programs focus on safety and enhancing self-sufficiency through home repair, tool loans, and housing counseling services.
